Patrick Stolfo

Patrick was born in Detroit, MI., studying fine arts at Wayne State University [B.F.A], sculpture at Emerson College in England under A. John Wilkes, and education at Mercy College of Detroit [M.A. in Waldorf Ed.]. His work has been installed or shown in Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, California, England, and Sweden. He is a co-founder and core faculty member of the Alkion Center at Hawthorne Valley, Ghent, NY. - for studies in anthroposophy, art, and Waldorf teacher education []. He also guest teaches and provides teacher mentoring widely in Waldorf high schools. The word "Calyx" derives from the Greek word "kalyx", meaning "chalice". Patrick believes that works of art, as well as the artist, become vessels for living, ideal content, through the heightened perception and awakened capacities of a conscious creative process.
